Reini Pumps as Part of the Tanker
Two Finnish slurry tanker manufacturers, KK-Module Oy and PEL-tuote Oy, demonstrate how Reini hydraulic submersible pumps can be integrated directly into tanker-mounted pump cranes to create practical, efficient and robust filling solutions.
Instead of using a separate loading pump, the Reini pump is installed at the end of the tanker’s hydraulic pump crane. The tractor provides the hydraulic power, while the pump is lowered directly into the slurry pit or storage tank.
This makes the loading system an integral part of the slurry tanker. There is no need for a separate engine or electrical power supply at the filling point, and the filling process can be controlled from the tractor.
The same basic concept can be adapted to different tanker sizes, pump crane configurations and operating requirements.
Karko Slurry Tankers – KK-Module
Finnish manufacturer KK-Module Oy uses Reini 4S hydraulic submersible pumps in pump crane solutions available for its Karko slurry tankers.
The Karko pump crane system uses large 8-inch galvanized pipework, with solutions available for filling from one or both sides of the tanker.
The Reini 4S pump is integrated directly into the pump crane, allowing the pump to be lowered into the slurry and the tanker to be filled efficiently using the tractor’s hydraulic system.
The result is a practical filling system in which the pump, pump crane and slurry tanker work together as one integrated solution.
For contractors and farms handling large volumes of slurry, an efficient filling process can have a significant impact on the productivity of the entire transport and spreading operation.
Livakka Slurry Tankers – PEL-tuote
PEL-tuote Oy also integrates Mäki-Reini hydraulic submersible pumps into pump cranes for its Livakka slurry tankers.
Livakka offers several pump crane configurations, including front-, side- and centre-mounted solutions. The systems are designed so that the tanker can be filled without the operator having to leave the tractor.
The 8-inch front-mounted pump crane uses a Reini 4S pump. Its articulated boom allows the pump to be lowered directly into the slurry in different types of storage tanks and pits, while the pumped material flows through the pump crane pipework directly into the tanker.
PEL-tuote also offers a centre-mounted pump crane that allows the tanker to be filled from either side. This demonstrates how the same Reini pump concept can be adapted to different tanker designs and loading arrangements.
Why Hydraulic Submersible Pumps Work Well for Slurry Tanker Filling
A hydraulically driven submersible pump is particularly well suited to this application because the pump itself is placed directly into the slurry.
The solution offers several practical advantages:
- Efficient tanker filling without a separate loading pump unit.

For a slurry tanker manufacturer, the pump becomes part of a larger engineered system consisting of the hydraulic circuit, pump crane, pipework, controls and tanker.
